“Every autumn break, we collaborate with around 65 cultural venues in The Hague. We are very pleased that, for the 27th edition this year, we have once again found new cultural partners to involve in the festival. This allows us to inspire even more children with theatre and art,” says Miriam Duiker, Director of De Betovering.
WORKSHOPS AT NEW LOCATIONS
This year, Festival de Betovering is once again offering interactive artistic workshops in every corner of the city. New participants include Rijksmuseum De Gevangenpoort, Escher in het Paleis, Sis Josip Galerie, Restaurant Pluk, WEST, Kunstuitleen Voorburg, Carrera's Muziekatelier, and Hofstads Jeugd Orkest. Furthermore, in addition to workshops at the museum, there will be a theatre performance at the Kunstmuseum for the first time.
THEATER, CIRCUS AND FAIRY TALES
As every year, the theatre performances form the largest part of the festival programme. The opening production LIEGEN (6+) by HetPaleis & De Nwe Tijd humorously questions the space between lies and the truth. Experience breathtaking antics in the spectacular and unmissable festival hit Double You (7+) by the Flemish company Be Flat. Discover famous stories in new guises, such as the children's opera Hansel and Gretel on the Run (8+), the sweet Lady and the Vagabond (4+), and the moving performance Samar and the King (8+). From Italy and France come the productions LàQua (0+) and Under the Snow (2+). Ticket sales have started.
After the summer, the programs for Betovering-buiten (pop-up festivals throughout the city) and the Festival Centre at Theater aan het Spui will also be announced. Keep an eye on the website !
