Kooman's Poppentheater was founded in 1960 by Frank Kooman and is now continued by his son, Arjan Kooman. Kooman's Poppentheater is the oldest permanent puppet theater in the Netherlands and has been performing for 60 years without structural subsidies.
Kooman's Puppet Theatre performs almost every Wednesday and Saturday, and during school holidays. Children aged 5 and up can attend the performance with their father, mother, grandpa or grandma, neighbor... you name it. The performances are certainly not 'childish,' but genuinely fun for older children too. The performances are not accessible to children who have just started primary school or are younger than four.
