De Betovering aims to enable as many children as possible to actively and receptively enjoy high-quality work by (partly international) professional artists in their free time, and to let them experience the power of imagination. In doing so, it seeks to contribute to the development of as diverse a group of children as possible. The festival is committed to ensuring that *all* children can participate, including children for whom moving, sitting still, hearing, seeing, paying for tickets, understanding the Dutch language, or processing stimuli are not self-evident.
Stichting De Betovering has been dedicated to this for over 20 years and is a non-profit foundation and a recognized cultural ANBI (Public Benefit Institution). Read more about the organization.

LEGACY TO CULTURE
The first week of November has been declared the Week of Leaving a Legacy to Culture in the Netherlands. Leaving a legacy to charities is becoming increasingly common, but arts and cultural institutions are not always viewed as such. Until now, leaving a legacy to culture has been less of a matter of course. With the Week of Leaving a Legacy to Culture, cultural institutions nationwide are drawing attention to the possibility of keeping your love for art and culture alive through a legacy.
On www.ikwashier070.nl , you can read which cultural institutions in The Hague have joined forces to promote leaving a legacy to culture. Estival de Betovering is one of the participating organizations.
DONATIONS AND TAX BENEFIT
The measures intended to make donating to culture tax-attractive are included in the Gift Act. De Betovering holds cultural ANBI status (Public Benefit Institution). With this, the Tax Authorities accept that you deduct a quarter more than you actually donated. Consequently, a donation to De Betovering is 125% tax-deductible. This additional deduction applies to a maximum of €5,000 in donations per year. After that, the standard gift deduction applies (of 100%, so without the extra 25%). Furthermore, for a periodic donation set for five years, there is no donation threshold and no maximum amount.
Your donation is a periodic donation if:
- you have had the gift recorded in a 'private deed'. A template can be found on the website of the Tax and Customs Administration.
- you regularly (at least once a year) transfer amounts to the ANBI named in the written agreement
- these amounts are always the same
- you transfer these amounts to the same institution or association for at least 5 consecutive years
- the ANBI or association provides you with no consideration for the donation
The government sets the policy regarding tax deductibility and determines whether this will remain the same in the future. For more information about the Gift Act, see: www.belastingdienst.nl.
