Collective Paper Aesthetics – Vouw&BouwLAB 6+

This year, the heart of our festival is back at Theater aan het Spui. All week long, you can join free hands-on workshops. Together with all visitors, we’re building an impressive, architectural, large-scale artwork made of cardboard shapes: Knexx 2.0. You can fold a small paper version yourself, decorate it, and take it home. We also do cutting, creating colorful fantasy animals that keep staring at you. You won’t be bored for a second!

In collaboration with Zuiderparktheater and MuseumLab, we bring the internationally touring project Collective Paper Aesthetics by artist Noa Haim to De Betovering. Starting in Kunstsilo (Norway), traveling to Canada and Australia, it’s now happening in The Hague!

Kids stack, build, fold, and collaborate on a gigantic paper artwork. And yes, parents have to help too! First this summer at Zuiderparktheater, then during autumn break at our Festival Hub in Theater aan het Spui.

Lotte Verweij – Stapelbaarzen 4+

Make your own Stapelbaars! What’s that? An animal that doesn’t exist yet! Color the page, cut it out along the lines, slide the pieces together until it looks like a new species. Add some googly eyes and your Stapelbaars is ready to explore the world!

Suitable for anyone who can cut!

Dak Kindercentra – The White Village 2+

At the Dak Kindercentra HQ, gnome Dorus lives in a beautiful cardboard village stored with unused toys. Dorus brought his cardboard village to De Betovering, but oh no, he forgot all the colors! Luckily, kids can help. Come by and bring Dorus’s village back to life with color!

The Festival Centre welcomes everyone aged 2 and up. Every day around 4 PM, we close with a festive stage program by and for kids!
