Workshop: How often do you discover your favorite color in Museum Bredius? 6+

You can't figure that out in 10 seconds, of course! To do that, you first have to look through the museum… and travel through time, because all the art we show was created about 350 years ago. Did your favorite color already exist back then? 

During this workshop, we reflect on current favorite things and see if they already existed in times long past (the 17th^century ). Are they still the same, or have they changed over time? We will actively engage in looking, smelling, tasting, discovering, and doing things ourselves. In doing so, we will repeatedly test the difference between a quick glance and looking closely and investigating. For what do you need a quick reaction, and for what do you slow motion ? 

This museum displays the home and art collection of Abraham Bredius (1855-1946). How was he able to discover so much about the artists of that era, such as Rembrandt and Jan Steen, when there was no internet or computer? And what do you need for all that?
