Family film about a nine-year-old boy named Lepel. After the mysterious disappearance of his parents, Lepel is forced to live with his mean Grandma Koppenol, who uses him as a servant. When Lepel gets the chance, he escapes and hides in a department store. There, he befriends the tough girl Pleun, who secretly lives behind the ties. Together with Pleun, Lepel tries to find his parents, aided by a friendly department store salesperson. However, his scary grandma doesn't give up easily and wants to capture Lepel again.
