A musical storytelling performance with Gerson Main

Grandpa lives in a care home, but according to his grandson, he leads anything but a boring life. He is a sultan, a captain, a diver; in his stories, anything is possible. When Grandpa closes his eyes more and more often, it seems as if the adventures are over. But perhaps that is precisely when his greatest journey begins.

In this musical storytelling performance, singer-songwriter Gerson Main brings the moving picture book *Alle dingen die mijn opa geheime is* to life. With his songs and a healthy dose of imagination, he takes young and old on a touching journey full of memories and adventure. The colorful illustrations by three-time Silver Brush Award winner Hedy Tjin complete the story.

Gerson Main started as a guitarist in the bands of Dio, Akwasi, and Typhoon, among others, but broke through in 2015 with his participation in De Beste Singer-Songwriter van Nederland (The Best Singer-Songwriter of the Netherlands). Since then, he has been making distinctive, narrative music, writing for artists such as Sef, Shirma Rouse, and Stef Bos, and creating theatrical performances for young and old. In 2024, he received the Audience Award of the Willem Wilmink Prize for the children's song Pittig, which he wrote together with Daan Faber, Dio, and Marnix Dorrestein.
