The Children's Panel of De Betovering visits performances and workshops during the festival. Afterwards, the children tell us what they saw, felt, and thought. What was fun, exciting, funny, or perhaps surprising?
With their ideas and feedback, the panel members help De Betovering even more fun and better for all children. Together with Haags Theaterhuis , we prepare the panel with workshops and discover how children experience the festival. In this way, the voice of children truly finds a place within De Betovering.

A minimum age is indicated for every activity at Festival De Betovering (for example, 7+). From that age, the organizers believe that a child can sufficiently understand and enjoy the performance or workshop.
This age is based on the average cognitive development of children, but of course, every child is unique. Therefore, we ask parents and guardians to assess for themselves whether a performance is suitable for their child, as long as the child is not younger than the stated minimum age.
For example: a 10-year-old child with the developmental level of a 3-year-old is very welcome at a 3+ performance, provided that the subject matter also aligns with their world of experience. In this way, we hope that all children can enjoy the festival, regardless of their developmental level.

Festival de Betovering is for all children, even if there is less to spend at home.
Ooievaarspas holders receive a 50% discount on all paid activities, and a large number of performances and workshops are free to attend. For instance, the Festival Centre at Theater aan het Spui is free to visit all week. You can also visit Betovering-buiten at five locations in the city without an admission ticket. On the 'Program' page, you can filter by 'FREE' in the selection menu.
