Workshop with museum visit: Blueprint, painting with light and plants

Huis van het boek (voorheen Museum Meermanno)

Almost two centuries ago it was discovered how to make a print with light: cyanotype. You spread a photosensitive material on paper, place for example a plant onto the paper and let sunlight shine on it. Then you get a radiant blue print of that plant on paper. The first form of photography! In the autumn holidays we will experiment with this exciting technique. You make the composition with plants from the museum garden yourself, the sun does the rest (and if the sun is not shining, we just use a sunbed!). Do you want to experiment with us?

Tip: trek oude kleding aan die vies mag worden.
Kids only. Parents and supervisors can pick up the children afterwards
